Mark Kirwan and Úna Britton posted the quickest Irish parkrun times of the week. Here are the fastest Irish parkrun times on Saturday (November 10).

At Marlay parkrun Irish international Úna Britton ran 17:14 to top the women’s parkrun rankings this week in Ireland.

The sister of Fionnuala McCormack, ran 16:50.10 this July to post a new 5000m best and is fine form coming into the cross country season.

Mark Kirwan of Raheny Shamrock AC ran 16:06 at Darndale parkrun to record the men’s quickest times across Ireland. The 2007 Irish steeplechase champion has had a great 2018 with a 66:15 half marathon in March and a marathon personal best of 2:17:37 at the Dublin marathon just two weeks ago.

It seems from Kirwan’s Strava post of the run, it might have been quicker were it not for a heavy night the evening before. Hat’s off to you sir.

Master athlete Conor Curran of North Belfast Harriers ran just three seconds slower than Kirwan with a 16:09 outing at Belfast Victoria. It’s a 21 second improvement from the time posted at Belfast Waterworks just a few weeks ago.

Melissa Eccles ran 18:38 at the Stormont event in Belfast to post a new parkrun PB and secures the women’s number two spot.  The North Down AC athlete has already posted new bests at 10km and half marathon in 2018 and her parkrun performance is actually quicker than her 5km personal best.

Also in the top 10, Willowfield Harriers Jennifer Harrison ran 16 seconds quicker than last week at Belfast Victoria to finish first woman in a new parkrun best of 19:13.

The club that featured the most this weekend was Willowfield Harriers with three male and one female runner, whilst the most popular parkrun for running fast was Belfast Victoria with a strong seven of the 20 results.
