Amazingly, and a first for the top 10, the five fastest male times this week all happened at the one parkrun. Here are the top times from Saturday (March 17).

With the Midlands Road Relay Championships also taking place on Saturday, you might have expected few from the Midlands of England amongst the fastest parkrunners this week.

However, that could not have been further from the truth and just over 10 miles away at Cannon Hill parkrun in Birmingham, five men ran 15:37 or quicker.

Perhaps hiding from their clubs the top two ran without barcodes and as is customary – no barcode – no shout out on the top 10. So who ran 15:12 and 15:15 at Cannon Hill?

Alex Rieley was running in his first parkrun and takes the official crown this week in with an excellent 15:29. The Mansfield Harrier finished 63rd at the English National Cross Country Championships last month.

On the other end of the spectrum when it comes to parkrun experience and following Rieley in Cannon Hill was William Bryan, who in his 231st parkrun ran 15:34. It was a new parkrun best for the young runner.

A big congratulations must go to Jo Williams who tops the women’s list this week running 17:24 at the Livingston parkrun. Last week the Lothian RC runner has finished second across the UK and in February was in the top four.

It was also a parkrun best the Scottish runner who finished sixth last month in the National Cross Country Championships.

Likewise, Vikki Hubbard marched up the standing this week to number two after eighth last week. The Canicross Midlands runner just missed her best by one-second posting 17:50 at the Sherwood Pines parkrun.
