Conor O’Mahony and Annette Kealy ran the quickest parkrun times in Ireland yesterday (May 25).

Kealy ran 17:55 at Malahide parkrun to be this week’s fastest female. The Raheny Shamrock runner has a 5000m PB of 16:29 set back in 2003, a year she also finished inside the top 10 at Dublin Marathon. Now a V50 Kealy’s time saw her set a WAVA age grading of 94.7%!

Conor O’Mahony was the fastest male this week clocking 16:01 at Limerick. The An Ríocht A.C man clamed victory by over a minute. It was a parkrun PB for the winner of the Tralee 10km.

It was a week when the junior athletes starred. Matthew Neill in the JM15-17 category clocked 16:13 to the be the second fastest male athlete this week. Also a JM15-17 runner Gavin McCafferey ran 16:44 at Antrim to be this week’s seventh fastest runner. Particularly impressive was JW11-14 runner Kirsti Foster who ran 19:00 at Belfast Victoria.

The third fastest man was Brian Murphy. The prolific Murphy looks to have set a huge PB in running 16:36. The second fastest woman this week was Vicki Cronin with 18:04 at Limavady. The Trafford AC athlete has been in fine recent form clocking 36:49 at the Great Manchester Run last week.
