18 year old Gina Akpe-Moses had a magnificent day for Irish athletics winning the women’s 100m at the European U20 Athletics Championships in Grosseto, Italy on Friday afternoon.
The 18 year old sprinter produced a commanding performance to win in 11.71 seconds, beating Germany’s Keshia Kwadwo to the gold.
Akpe-Moses spoke to Athletics Ireland after the race, reflecting on her success.

Irish teammate Ciara Neville was slightly disappointed with finishing 7th in 11.98, marking a magnificent achievement for Irish athletics to have two sprinters in a final at this level.
