The Irish quartet, led by two individual sprint medalists go into today’s 4x100m final at the European Youth Olympics Festival in Gyor, Hungary with big medal hopes.

The 4x100m girls team of Rhasidat Adekele, Patience Jumbo-Gula, Niamh Foley and Miriam Daly came through their semifinal on Friday with ease in 46.31, finishing over a second ahead of the Swiss team in 47.37, with the Poland finishing third.

In the other semifinal, the Netherlands were slightly quicker in 46.26.

The Irish quartet which boosts sprint medalists at Rhasidat Adekele and Patience Jumbo-Gula, head into today’s final with a great chance of a podium spot.

Earlier this week Patience Jumbo-Gula won the bronze medal in the 1oom, before Rhasidat Adekele went one better to pick up the silver medal in the 200m.
