Cardiff parkrun marked its 10-year anniversary last weekend but maybe should have waited an extra week to celebrate, with both the fastest male and female times on Saturday (February 24).

First timer Kieran Wood was the fastest parkrunner running a nippy 15:15 in the Welsh capital. The Cambridge & Coleridge runner is a 1500m specialist and will hopefully now become a parkrun regular too.

It definitely was a weekend for track stars at parkrun in Cardiff with Charlotte Taylor-Green top of the women’s list with a fast 16:51. A week after competing at the British Indoor Championships, the middle-distance runner and steeplechaser was taking part in her 17th parkrun

Central AC may have picked up a record eighth straight team gold at the Scottish National Cross Country Championships on Saturday, but club man Cameron Harris was breaking his own records with a new parkrun best 15:32 for the second-quickest man.

In her 14th parkrun, international runner Ruth Barnes was the second fastest woman this week running 17:09 in Poole.

Everyone remembered their barcodes last weekend, but this Saturday it was a different story, with four male runners missing out on the top 10 listings with fast times in Heaton parkrun, Brighton & Hove, Bushy and Strathclyde parkrun.
