On another fine weekend of parkrun it was India Barwell of Lincoln wellington Ac who ran the quickest time for the ladies with a 16:52 at Doddington Hall parkrun. It is a parkrun PB for the under-20 and also around 20 seconds quicker than both her 5000m track and 5k road times so those might get a bump soon too!

It was a family affair at the battleground of Poole parkrun this weekend and we know it’s not a race, but you can imagine this one meant a little more than usual. Rowan and Alex Miell-Ingram were only separated by four seconds and both were under 15 minutes on the south coast. Nothing like a bit of team work to get the job done on a Saturday.

The best of the rest?

Jessica Gibson also broke 17 minutes this weekend at Prospect parkrun, where she was looking for gold in a Saturday morning session. The Reading AC star has a faster PB over this distances and has only been running parkruns this year so far but another sub 17 minute time is a good sign.

Oliver Conway was just a touch over 15 minutes with 15:04 at University Parks parkrun and that was good enough for third fastest male this week. It was a massive parkrun PB for the Radley U20, who’s previous quickest was 15:37 from the same event last year so a great improvement in just over 12 months.

Jennifer Leggate was also just over the 17 minutes mark, with 17:09 at Storey’s Field, an event that features regularly in this list. Another U20 athlete making improvements and seeing hard work pay off at a Saturday morning parkrun. A previous best of 17:34, also at Storey’s Field, was in danger this year given Leggate has also run a 1500m PB of 4:33.76 this summer.

The fastest course?

It was like a Premier League thriller with a 4-3 result this weekend. Poole parkrun took an early lead with the Miell-Ingram brothers adding a brace, but Storey’s Field finished strong with Jennifer Leggate making the difference after the chaps left it three a piece.
