Annie Mann and Felix McGrath ran the fastest parkrun times in the UK this week (14th May).

Our weekly parkrun top ten is sponsored by 1001 Running Tips by our editor Robbie Britton. Order your copy today.

The fastest female park-runner (should that be hyphenated or not?) of the day is U17 Annie Mann of Halterworth Harriers. The Hampshire athlete has already ran a PB of 4:19.63 for 1500m and a 5:01.52 mile indoors, so a parkrun PB is no surprise. 42 seconds quicker than last year’s new best, Mann crossed the line in 17:11 at Southampton parkrun.

The fastest male runner was Felix McGrath at Cardiff parkrun. The only runner under 15 minutes this week, running for Newcastle (Staffs), his time of 14:57 is a new PB for parkrun and a wee bit closer to his 5k best of 14:43 set last year at South West PB Series 5K.

Apologies for being a little short with the results this week, but I’m actually at a wedding of runners, the karaoke has started and we all know distance runners don’t last long after dark on the ales.

Second and third females were Charlotte Ward and top 10 regular Sophie Wood, with 17:17 and 17:24 respectively, so all pretty quick and pretty close. City of Hull’s Ward ran 17:09 for 5k earlier the year at Podium 5k and that’s an outright PB for the senior athlete.

Second and third male was actually decided at the same parkrun with John Sanderson and Edward Buck tearing it up at Heslington parkrun with 15:01 and 15:04 as they crossed the line in quick succession. A good bit of Saturday morning training racing for the man from Guildford and Godalming and the youngster from Newark AC.
