Dewi Griffiths takes the men’s parkrun honours as Stacey Ward tops the women’s list. Here are the fastest times at UK parkruns on Saturday (July 28).

Continuing his comeback from injury Dewi Griffiths ran 14:45 at the Swansea Bay parkrun to record the fastest men’s time across the UK this week.

It was the Swansea Harriers first time at the Saturday morning 5k and follows on from his winning comeback race at the British 10k a fortnight ago.

Stacey Ward ran a parkrun best 17:06 at the St Albans event to take the women’s top spot on Saturday. The Herne Hill Harrier will be delighted to finally take the women’s honours having clocked the second fastest time on three occasions in recent months.

Abed Teweldebrhan posted a time of 15:32 at Riverfront, Newport to take the men’s number two spot. The Newport Harrier was just outside his 15:28 course record on his 13th visit to the event.

Running the second fastest women’s time was Ruth Barnes with 17:07 at the Poole event. It was parkrun number 16 for the Avon Valley Runners athlete who won the Great Bristol 10K in May.

Walsall Arboretum and St Albans were the most represented parkruns this weekend with two runners each.

There were three unknown men who ran times quick enough for the top 10; a 14:50 run in Cheltenham, 15:24 at the Waterworks parkrun in Belfast and Ealing’s Northala Fields event saw a 15:47 performance.
