Top 10 regular Allan Stewart takes the men’s honours as Isabel Clark is the fastest female. Here are the fastest parkrun times in the UK on Saturday (September 22).

Perseverance pays off as consistent top 10 finisher Allan Stewart is the fastest park runner this weekend with a 15:24 performance. The Chiltern Harrier was second to Joshua Grace last weekend and often faces stiff competition just to be the first finisher at Bushy parkrun.

Also at Bushy parkrun was Isabel Clark, who ran a fine 17:04 to be the fastest female runner this weekend. The Serpentine athlete has featured in the top 10 already this month and in 2018 improved her half marathon PB to 76:54 at the Virgin Sport Hackney Half Marathon in May.

On a weekend where many club athletes might be attending the regional road relays there is a mix of new and old athletes within the top 10 rankings.

At the Mid Ulster Sports Arena we saw two fast times this weekend with Eoin Hughes running 15:29 to finish second in the male rankings and Grace Carson running 17:43 to finish joint fifth in the female rankings.

Carson was not the top performance at a Northern Irish event as Rachel Gibson ran 17:27 at the Belfast Victoria parkrun. The flat concrete loop at Victoria parkrun was actually the venue for the 2017 World 24hr Championships and is a flat and fast course.

It seems Hannah Oldroyd has returned from Pegasus parkrun in New Zealand after a few fast outing there. The Airedale Dodger ran 17:43 at Armley parkrun to finish joint fifth in the list.

Possibly the finest performance on Saturday was from under 15 athlete Anna Hedley. The junior runner improved her parkrun PB from 17:28 to 17:10 to finish second fastest of the weekend.

2018 has been a fine year for the Fife AC Junior with wins at SSAA Scottish Secondary Schools’ Championships, the Great Edinburgh Cross and over 1500m on the track for the Scottish National U15 1500m Championships.

A few parkruns featured twice in this week’s rankings, but surely fastest parkrun must go to Bushy parkrun with both of the top male and female performances occurring in the London park.
