Despite the masses descending on London this weekend for the marathon, parkrun times didn’t disappoint. Here are the quickest times on Saturday (April 21).

A sub 15-minute parkrun is always to be applauded and this weekend, Adam Hickey broke the mark with a 14:42 run in Southend.

Hickey, who won the coveted English national cross country title in February, holds the course record of 14:15 set in 2016.

Ash Harrell was taking part in the gunpowder parkrun for the first time in Essex and ran the second quickest time this week with 15:00. The City of Norwich runner was a recent winner of the Norwich half marathon.

Ruth Barnes once features among the top 10 women in the UK and this week it’s the prized number one spot.

The Avon Valley runner posted a 17:09 parkrun best at Weymouth in her 15th time at the event. Earlier this year Barnes represented England at the Granollers half marathon running a personal best 74:59.

Tamara Armoush, who ran the quickest time in recent weeks, recorded the second fastest with 17:15 in Dulwich.
