Aoife McGreevy and Adam Ferris are your runners at parkrun in Ireland this weekend (September 28th).

Aoife McGreevy, an u17 athlete, rocked up at her first Belfast Victoria parkrun and ran a strong 18:35 to finish first female in this weekend’s rankings and, more importantly, a new parkrun best for herself. We believe the Lagan Valley AC youngster also ran 12:05 earlier this year at the Armagh International 3k race and this PB marks a good progression over the summer.

Adam Ferris went from 15:53 for fifth last week, to 16:10 and first place this weekend. If you keep turning up and doing your best, your day will come. The St, Malachy’s runner is also an U17 so it is two younger athletes, praising runners for the future maybe, who top the rankings this week.

Josh O’Sullivan-Hourihan has been competing for Ireland as an orienteer since 2010 and is a regular in our rankings. This weekend was a 16:34 at Waterstown and the Donore Harrier was second in the list.

Barbara Cleary ran 18:39 at Lees Road parkrun for second fastest female this weekend. A bit slower than her 17:00,55 5000m best from 2015, but the 2:51:32 marathoner has hit 10:18.76 for 3000m this summer and ran 35:17 for 10k in Dublin earlier this year.

With four runners in the two ranking lists, Belfast Victoria is the fastest parkrun in Ireland this weekend, so head there if you want a PB next weekend!
