Watch: 16-Year-Old Jakob Ingebrigtsen Runs 5000m in 13:35

Norway’s teenage sensation Jakob Ingebrigtsen clocked 13:35 for 5000m at the national championships, breaking the age group world record by 10 seconds.

The 16-year-old, younger brother of Norway stars Henrik and Filip Ingebrigtsen ran the amazing time on his way to the 5000m win at the Sandnes Stadium in Norway on Friday (August 25).

The previous world record for age 16 was set by Japan’s Satoru Kitamura in 2002, who ran 13:45.

Ingebrigtsen, who competed in the 3000m steeplechase at the recent World Championships in London, also set a new national U18 800m record on Thursday, running 1:49.40.
