St Malachy’s AC youngster and Raheny Shamrock 50 year-old masters runner claimed the top parkrun spots across the island of Ireland. Here are the quickest times on Saturday (May 12).

Ben Branagh, 24, ran the fastest at parkrun for the second time in recent weeks. The St Malachy AC runner clocked 15:26 at the Waterworks event in Belfast in what was his 21st parkrun. Branagh ran 15:19 in April to take the number one spot and boasts a 14:38 best on the road and 14:16 on the track.

The former San Jose State student was followed one minute later by Dominic McAllister to claim the top two places for the Waterworks event and across Ireland. It was an event PB for McAllister as he joined the parkrun 50 club.

There was one unknown runner who missed out on the men’s top 10 after running 16:38 at the Marlay parkrun.

Annette Kealy was the quickest woman this week posting 18:38 at the Malahide event. The 50 year-old Raheny Shamrock athlete is the reigning Irish masters O50 cross country champion and took part in her 61st parkrun.

Top 10 regular Sarah Baryga moved up to number two after running 18:43 at the Marlay parkrun.

Malahide, Belfast Victoria and Marlay parkruns were the most represented events with three runners among the top 10s.
