Fionnuala Ross tops the women’s list as Adam Hickey once again blasts around Southend parkrun. Here are the quickest times on Saturday (July 21).

Fionnuala Ross ran 16:45 at the Citypark, Craigavon event to record the fastest women’s time across the UK this week. The Armagh AC athlete was due a PB over 5km after running under 34 minutes for the 10,000m at the Highgate Harriers Night of the 10,000m PBs in May.

It continues an excellent season for the Scotland based Irish international who has won numerous titles this year.

Hoka One One sponsored Adam Hickey, who is no stranger to parkrun, clocked 14:40 to record the fastest men’s time once again at the flat and fast Southend event. A great course for anyone looking for a PB. Earlier this year Hickey ran a 13:54 road 5k PB in Ipswich as well as a 14:15 parkrun best.

British international marathoner Tracy Barlow ran the second quickest women’s time this week with a 16:51 clocking at the Bushy parkrun. Earlier this year the Nick Anderson coached athlete posted a 16:31 5k PB at the notoriously hilly Falesia 5k in Portugal.

Charlotte Penfold keeps climbing the ranks and posted an excellent 17:09 this week to go from fifth to third in the women’s rankings. Where will the North Shields Polytechnic AC be next week?

Fresh from a 14:11 5000m PB in June, Jack Gray was the second runner under 15 minutes this week. The Cambridge and Coleridge athlete gained some notoriety earlier this year but has seemingly just got his head down and continued training and racing hard.

Kent AC’s Tom Mower ran a new course record for the Blandford parkrun. The V35 took seven seconds from Danny Long’s mark set in 2015. The 2:36 marathoner has already run PBs over 5000m & 10k this year with 14:57 and 31:06 respectively.
