International athletes Marc Scott and Hayley Carruthers were the fastest at UK parkrun this weekend (March 30).

Marc Scott ran the fastest time for a road 5k in the UK last year with a 13:45 at fast Mid Cheshire 5k and has seen excellent wins at 10ks like Trafford and Ribble Valley in the last 12 months. This weekend Scott ran 14:34 at Darlington South parkrun and took a huge chunk from the course record for the event.

parkrun regular Hayley Carruthers has probably topped our parkrun rankings more often than any other athlete and ran 16:20 at Brueton parkrun this weekend. The England international features here so often we’re not sure what to write this time, but worth mentioning some other results the Birchfield Harrier has posted 9:26 at Armagh 3k and 71:57 at the Big Half in London.

Gunpowder parkrun saw fireworks (sorry, not sorry) this morning with a showdown between Lucy Charles and Dani Nimmick. The Orion Harrier Charles ran 16:27 and England marathoner was not far behind in 16:50. It completes three athletes under 17 minutes for a fast weekend of the free time trialled events.

Both Alex Teuten and Thomas Trimble broke 15 minutes and could well have been the fastest on any other weekend. Lincoln Wellington AC’s Trimble ran at Long Eaton whilst Southampton AC’s (thats the right club this time right?) Teuton was at his home Southampton parkrun.

Well done to everyone who made it out to parkrun this weekend and if you want a quick time next week then maybe try this week’s fastest was the flat Dulwich course in south east London.
